Unseasonably warm weather this past week brought out lots of boaters on Saturday that thought their boating season had ended at Labor Day. After temps in the mid to high 80’s the past 4 days, today will only reach the low 70’s….what a difference a day can make! Our 10-day forecast claims that this next weekend will be back up in the 80’s again! The annual Wo Zha Wa Days in the Dells (www.wozhawa.com ) was fortunate to have such great weather for their event. This Saturday the 23rd is again supposed to reach a high of 84 which will make for beautiful weather to head to Warrens and browse the vendors at the Cranberry Fest. (For more info go to www.cranfest.com ). The following weekend, on the 30th is the Nekoosa GIANT Pumpkin Festival ( www.nekoosagiantpumpkinfest.com ). Both events are just a short 45 minute drive and both great Fall outdoor adventures! Then on October 7th you can channel your inner-daredevil and head up to the Tri-Norse Ski Club and Park in Rome (part of the Dyracuse ATV Park)…they are holding an event called ‘Tri-it”. From 9 a.m. ’til noon you can try ski jumping for FREE! This event includes free lesson/coaching and free equipment. To take part in this you must register at www.trinorse.org. If anyone opts in on this event….please send pics to us so we can post! For those of you who just enjoy the changing colors of Wisconsin trees, Lakewood is already experiencing those colors now and it looks like our area will peak the 3rd week in October….follow Wisconsin’s peak times at www.travelwisconsin.com/fall-color-report. Also, keep those phones/cameras ready to snap some great Fall pics of these festivals, foliage and FUN and submit those photos to talktous@lakewoodpoa.org for our Fall photo contest!
