Corona Virus Info From Board Member Kathleen Pugh

I am not a physician nor an infectious disease physician, I am a nurse practitioner. I love to research and there are many opinions and false things going around about Coronavirus or COVID -19.

Where I get my information:

Center of Disease and Protection (CDC): https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html

World Health Organization (WHO): https://www.who.int/

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH) (NIAID): https://www.niaid.nih.gov/

John Hopkins: https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6

Stanford Medicine: https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2020/03/stanford-provides-covid-19-testing-to-bay-area-hospitals.html

Wisconsin Department of Health Services: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/

Symptoms people may experience:

  • Runny nose
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Difficulty breathing (severe cases)

People that are at higher risk are people over age 65, people with chronic diseases such as heart disease, lung disease and people who have diabetes. Please do not be fooled by this anyone can get this virus!

There is no need to panic, but keep yourself educated, stay calm, and help others!

Kathleen Pugh, APNP
