BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MINUTES FOR Saturday, October 7, 2023

The Lakewood Board of Directors meeting was called to order by President Amy Volkmann at 9:10 am

  1.     Roll Call:

Board Members Present             Amy Volkmann – President

  1.     Minutes
  • Update September 16, 2023 minutes to reflect Jesse James was present at that meeting.  Motion to approve was made by Annette Wolf and seconded by Jesse James
  1.     Treasurers Report
  • Liens $2,615.00 in outstanding liens

  1.     Secretary’s Report
  • Now that we have a handle on the gate keys, we will need to assign numbers for the guests of property owners that rent the pavilion. There will be specific gate key codes for fire, police and vendors. 
  1.     Park Needs
  • Chris Wolf stated Railroad ties are expensive now.  He wants to wait to purchase these once the pricing goes down. The project is on hold now and will begin again in April 2024.
  • Ben Fletcher was going to help with the excavating and is unable to now, due to his full time job.
  • Amy would like to change the driveway, so it doesn’t bend.  Nancy Kubina asked why, as she doesn’t see this as a benefit.  
  1.     Gate Key Housekeeping
  • 40 property owners have not confirmed their code.  These keys will be deactivated along with all property owners that have liens on their property.
  1.     Lakefront
  • Need signs along the boat launch stating private property.
  • Amy Volkmann said Robert Deren said we need erosion prevention to stop sand from filling up the boat launch.

 

  1.     Old Business

 

  • By Law Change – do a ballot for the homeowners to vote on short term rentals.  A letter will need to go out to the property owners explaining the short term rentals and anything less than 12 months will be considered short term.  Amy Volkmann will prepare this letter and ballot.  Amy Volkmann will contact the attorney for their input.
  • Grievance Committee – this will be needed for any grievances property owners have.  The following are part of the committee
    Nick Olson
    Terry Anderson
    Amy Volkmann will ask another property owner to be part of this committee.
  • Will need to define a fee schedule for homeowners that do not comply.
  • Terms listed on the website are incorrect and need to be corrected.

Amy Volkmann will resign this year in May 2024.

 

  1.     Due Letters 

 

  • Dues for 2024 will be $79.86 and letters to go out in February.

 

Annette Wolf made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:14 am and was seconded by
Gretchen Peterson

Next meeting will be January 1/17/24 at 7:00 by zoom..
