Burning, Camp Fires and FIRE DANGER

With Spring clean up in full force, the urge to burn leaves and fallen limbs and tree is a temptation.  With the lack of rain and high winds in the past month it has put the fire danger for Adams County at VERY HIGH, making burning (and even a simple campfire) a danger to all of us.  Before starting any kind of fire, be sure to have a burning permit and call the fire line at 888-WIS-BURN (888-947-2876) each and every time!    With all the dead and downed trees in our area, one spark from a brush or camp fire can quickly turn dangerous and easily get out of control. There is a link to the Wisconsin DNR website located under our ‘resources’ tab located on this page, along with violation hotline numbers. Getting a burning permit is now as easy as going on the DNR website and doing it electronically!

Remember that properly extinguishing your fire is equally as important as tending to a safe fire. Let’s all be SAFE and SMART…..it’s in all of our best interest 🙂
