Here’s What’s Happening

For many of you, this time of year involves Fall clean up and winterizing your cabins and closing up your place until Spring arrives…..for the rest of us it signifies waiting with baited breath for the snow to fly so we can hit the snowmobile trails and for those of you who don’t have a need for speed, may be anticipating dusting off the ole cross-country skis or snow shoes. As far as our lakefront area is concerned, the gate at the entrance was officially locked at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 27th and will remained closed until April 1st, 2017. Whatever your gig is, I think we can all agree that we love our little spot in Central Wisconsin, no matter what the season is!

So much has happened in the past couple months. Here are just a few things that have gone on: *BIG NEWS!!! The property located at 1954 S. Cypress now has a new owner! (see next week’s blog for all the details). *Earlier in the year we purchased t-shirts to show off your Lakewood pride. They sold like hotcakes and we now have more! If you don’t have at least one or two in your household yet then don’t delay….go to the “Member Information” tab of this web page and then “Merchandise” tab under that and check out both styles that we offer. You don’t want to be the only on your block to not be wearing one! *Maureen has been working with the area title companies and I (Kelly) have been working with area realtors to update all information, including our HOA bylaws, covenants and restrictions for prospective buyers and new homeowners. So far in 2017 we have welcomed almost a dozen new homeowners! *In an effort to follow through on our commitment to “Beautification” that we discussed at the May homeowners meeting, we solicited volunteer help through our Facebook page to organize a small committee of homeowners to assess and advise on the associations rights and obligations regarding the upkeep, maintenance and condition of Lakewood properties. More information on that in a future blog.

On behalf of all of us on your Lakewood Association Board of Directors, have a great holiday season and stay safe!
