Here’s What’s Happening at Our Lakefront (so far)

We’ve been BUSY! Here’s what has happened since our annual meeting!

It’s been one month since our 2017 annual member meeting and we have been both busy and productive! Here is what has been accomplished in those 30 days:

* COLOR, COLOR, COLOR! We painted and stained the entire lakefront area (almost)…the colors? The primary color is called Meditation Time and is, for a better description, a mossy green color. The pavilion is called Frontier Brown with the interior roof area painted, Sea Breeze Teal….or what is known in the South as “Haint Blue” (see my previous blog posted on Saturday June 3 for the story behind Haint Blue!)

   > Pier (a new step has been added as well)

   > Pavilion

   > Picnic Tables and Benches

   > Grills

   > Shed

   > Entrance

   > All Sign Posts

   > Horseshoe & Volleyball areas

   > Yup! I said ALMOST EVERYTHING!

* SIGNAGE at our Entrance

   >Cleaned up, painted and polyurethaned!

* More color….this time in the form of FLOWERS!

   > Flowers and fresh wood chips were added to both our entrance and at the pavilion!

* SWIM AREA

   > Weights, hardware and noodles all replaced and swim area installed

* VOLLEYBALL NET

   > New net purchased and installed and now ready for some action!

* BABY SWING

   > Replaced with a newer, sturdier swing (Thanks for donating it Sandie Weigel)

* DRIVEWAY

   > grated and potholes filled in

* COMMUNICATION SIGN

   > new lettering, new hardware and shiny new plexiglass

   > updated info for a new look and mailbox for our “unwired members” was updated as well

* POISON IVY….it has been sprayed!

* BEACH

   > Beach has been groomed (which also resulted in eliminating many of the rocks/stones in the sand

We are extremely happy with the results and transformation so far and a lot more will continue to happen throughout the Summer months. And here’s what just happened in the last 5 days…..

The hill on the south side of the ramp was seeded on Tuesday. Low maintenance grass was planted and will need a little TLC…..please be conscientious about staying off of this area throughout the coming months as this project takes root. Also happening this next week (hopefully!) will be the installation of our dock. It’s been a crazy Spring so far and it started out with low lake levels and Docking Solutions not being able to maneuver their barge because of the low water levels putting them far behind in their work, which has put our installation back 4 weeks from scheduled date!! Then it rained so much that lake levels are (as of Wednesday) now too high. They are hoping that with one dam open and the other closed that it may go down enough to do the install this coming week. FINGERS CROSSED!
