May 6th was our annual membership meeting and was held at Northern Bay. The meeting started out with a fantastic Continental Breakfast as the crew at Northern Bay always provides! The meeting itself was quite productive and the 2017 budget was met with approval. We’ve already made lakefront improvements such as buying a new volleyball net, reinforcing our swim area and purchasing new noodles for it and making the playground equipment more safe. We will be grating the beach and sand volleyball court and our VP Steve did a stellar job filling in the potholes in the driveway. However, our BIG projects that we have budgeted for this year are a general sprucing up of our lakefront and addressing our hillside on the south side of the boat ramp. It had really started deteriorating last year, but this past Winter and rainy Spring has been really cruel to it, washing away almost everything that was left on the hill. All avenues that were investigated for this project had a definite cost behind them and we choose what we believe to be the BEST solution to hold that hill together and prevent future erosion. This project will need everyones diligent attention as the hillside continues to grow and take root. During this process we ask everybody (children and adults alike) to stay off of this area and refrain from using it as a shortcut up to the pavilion.
After the meeting, the staff in the clubhouse had a tasty Bloody Mary special offered to only Lakewood members. DELISH! Thanks to everyone for coming out on the 6th and joining us….its always great to put a face with a name 🙂 Anyone interested in the minutes from the meeting will be able to view them under our Member Information tab in a couple of weeks.
