Wednesday March 2nd we received sad news that Judy Geiger, one of our fellow Lakewood members, had passed away after several months of health issues. If anyone recalls my blog from back in June, Judy was the wife of Lou, our first President on the Lakewood Board of Directors. Judy and Lou have been part of the Lakewood community since 1983 after purchasing their 1/2 acre piece of real estate and building their vacation home, a saltbox style over on 19th Drive. Their eldest son, Scott, still enjoys spending time at that home in his free time. The couple also started our first 4th of July picnic and organized it for years after that. As recently as our picnic last Summer, it was Judy and Scott who donated over 50 items to raffle off to make money for our “gate fund.” They also donated popsicles for the kids. After several years of not making it to the summer picnic, Judy attended last July and enjoyed catching up with old friends and making new acquaintances. Outside of Lakewood, her and Lou started a business in Milwaukee called Medivan, Inc. where she was still an active member on the Board of Directors. She also made a mean Blonde Brownie…I can attest to that!!! Judy was a sweet lady who will be missed.
