BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

MINUTES FOR Saturday, June 17, 2023

The Lakewood Board of Directors meeting was called to order by President Amy Volkmann at 9:10 am

  1.     Roll Call:

Board Members Present             Amy Volkmann – President
Gretchen Peterson – Vice President
Nancy Kubina – Treasurer
Ginny Palumbo – Secretary
Annette Wolf – Director

Not present – Carin Tio – Director, Jesse James – Director

  1.     4th of July Picnic
  • The board will provide Hot Dogs, Chips and Adult Beverages..
  • Nancy Kubina will provide raffle items.
  • There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes.  The 50/50 raffle will use white tickets and the raffle prizes will use blue tickets.

  • Gretchen Peterson will have examples of the Lakewood T-Shirts for preorders. All preorders must be paid in full at time of order.
  • Prizes to be awarded-
    • Lakewood Spirit
    • Best Decorated UTV/ATV
    • Best Kids entry
    • Best costumes – kids, adults and dogs
  • Ray Oldham will volunteer to set up the Pavillion for the parade.
  1.     Lakefront
  • Plan of action for the wall.  We will not be putting a wall back up.  Instead Ben Fletcher will shore up the two sides.
  • Landscaper will design something for the middle that will be maintenance free.
  • 17 yards of new sand will be brought in next year.
  1.     New Garbage Company
  • The old garbage company has made a decision to no longer service Lakewood.  A new company, Harders, has offered to service.  The cost would be $35.00 a month.  Amy Volkmann has posted the information on Facebook.  Originally the service wanted to charge the Lakewood Association 
  1.     Minutes
  • Approval of the April 23, 2023 minutes

A motion was made by Nancy Kubina and seconded by Annette Wolf to approve the minutes

Nayes – None

  1.     Treasurer Report
  • Status of Liens. Only 1 outstanding Lien – Nancy Adam
  • Lots 18 & 19 1963 South Cypress Drive has 2 lots and only has paid for 1
  • February 15, 2023 Lien letters went out for homeowners that haven’t paid 2022 dues.
  • Approximately 25 lien letters to out out next week for homeowners that haven’t paid 2023 dues.
  • Nancy Kubina is all up to date on the accounting for the association.
  1.     Gate Key Housekeeping
  • as of June 17, 2023 there are 92 homeowners not confirmed.  Shut off date will be July 8, 2023.
  • Mary Dawid has been permanently banned from the Lakefront.  This is due to trespassing, shooting off fireworks from our pier and building fires on the sand by the lake.
  • Need gate codes for the guests of the homeowners that have reserved the Pavilion for July 8, and July 22, 2023.  
  • Need a set of codes for:
    • Pavilion guests
    • Vendors
    • Emergency Services
    • President – this code will not be given to any homeowner for any circumstance.
  1.     Board Meeting Attendance
  • Too many board members have missed several meetings without proper excusal.  The rest of the year meeting are mandatory for all board members.  No exceptions.  Next meetings are:
    • September 9, 2023
    • October 7, 2023
  • There will be no meeting in August, November or December.

A motion was made by Nancy Kubina and 2nd by Annette Wolf to adjourn the meeting at 10:15 am.
