LAKEWOOD BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES FOR Wednesday, April 10, 2024

The Lakewood Board of Directors meeting was called to order by President Amy Volkmann at 7:04 pm

  1.     Roll Call:

  1.     Park Improvements – 
  • Amy Volkmann contacted the service we had last year that mowed.  The new contract is $9,000.  Amy Volkmann contacted them and told them we are not going to do a seasonal contract.  They were looking at $375.00 per week.  Robert Deren referred Amy to another contractor that is fully licensed.  All Season Service from Mauston.  His rate is $150.00 a week for mowing and beach clean up.  He will only mow as needed, so we are not cutting grass when it’s very dry and doesn’t need it.
  • Francis Excavating dredged the boat launch.  He pulled everything up and sloped away from the beach. Has a 1 year guarantee.  He also put two loads of new sand at the beach, brought in rock for the side of the new stairs.  The cost was $4,700 for this.  Completed the excavation of the wall with drainage.  It has geomating and rock for drainage.
  • Estimate for the steps is $2,500. All Seasons will complete the steps by the weekend.
  • All the rotten railroad ties have been removed and replaced and crushed asphalt has been placed around the ties.
  • When water is turned on, power washing will be completed.
  • Chris Wolf will fix the card reader.  It will be on a 4 inch pipe with concrete.
  • Cameras – Carin Tio found batteries that are solar.  The cost is $99 per camera.  We have four cameras.  We will test the front gate and the pavilion with the solar batteries  Motion made by Annette Wolf and second by Gretchen Peterson to purchase two solar batteries.
  • The plan for two unlimited pictures is $15.00 per month, per camera.

  1.     General Business
  • Gretchen Peterson needs reimbursement for the t-shirts.  45 shirts in various colors and logos were purchased.  The amount to reimburse is $671.41.  The s-xl shirts were the cheapest.  The xxxl and sport tech ladies were more expensive.  Annette Wolf suggested we explore using Eagle Promotions for any additional shirt purchases. 
  • Budget -Amy Volkmann, Nancy Kubina will meet and review before the annual meeting. 
  • Minutes from February 21, 2024 motion to approve by Annette Wolf and seconded by Nancy Kubina.
  • A homeowner sent a note to Amy Volkmann about the profanity flags for the board to discuss.  It was decided this is outside our jurisdiction to handle.

    Gretchen Peterson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 pm  and was second by Jesse James.
