Spring has Sprung!

The Winter in Adams County this year has been long and hard! While our area of Central Wisconsin saw some of the best snowmobiling it has seen in years, traveling to get there proved to be treacherous at best most weekends in January and February. We got hit with our first actual snow on October 20th and it just kept coming pretty steadily for most of the Winter. Snowfall after snowfall and several county snowplows later, the end of our driveways were about 4 feet deep and iced over (if you weren’t there to keep up with plowing!) Then came the ice, rain and then rapid melting of the 30-something inches we had! Pretty much all of Lakewood was flooded and area roads/highways compromised because of it. The ice and heavy snow on trees took a toll on much of our personal landscape as well as trees at our lakefront. Many limbs and entire trees fell creating much clean up for lots of homeowners!  Castle Rock Lake is currently at the lowest I, personally, have ever seen it, but once all of the snow north of us melts I am sure it will be high levels and flowing fast by Memorial Day.  As with every April 1st, the gate is now open at our lakefront. The electric gate has been installed, but we are waiting for the electrician to finish up….once that is completed we will get your gate card mailed out. In the meantime, please continue to use your 2018 hang tags and hang them from your rearview mirror.  Lastly, anyone who plans on being in Lakewood this weekend, we will be having a bonfire in the parking at the lakefront on Saturday April 6th at 7:00 p.m. Grab a lawn chair and your favorite libations and come on down and join your neighbors and get to know your fellow Lakewood homeowners.
