While many families pack up their Summer toys after Labor Day and start getting their cabins winterized, others still continue on with other activities through the Winter season, like ATVing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing and ice fishing. For our lakefront, preparing for Winter meant that the porto-potty was removed in mid-September and the pier was removed and put in storage at the beginning of November. Today marks the day that the gate officially gets locked every year (the Sunday after Thanksgiving). We closed ‘er up at 1:30 p.m. and will open it back up for “business as usual” on the first Saturday in April…..unless the weather dictates that we can open it earlier! Remember that you are welcome to continue enjoying the lakefront and park area during the Winter months, whether you make the walk in from the road or would like to purchase a key. Keys can be purchased for a non-refundable $5.00 and you must sign off on the key agreement form. For more information on this you can contact us at talktous@lakewoodpoa.org. Once the gate reopens in Spring, we hope to continue making improvements and updates as we were able to accomplish in 2017!
